girls rule, boys drool

On Saturday we had dinner with JLD and HFD, followed by games and drinks. One of the games we played was Battle of the Sexes, in which you team up men vs. women and answer intentionally sexist questions. So, for example, women try to answer questions about sports and tools and men attempt questions about cooking and fashion.
A classic moment came when Rob and JLD brainstormed the answer to "What is an emery board used for?" ...
"Emery board?"
"Okay, let's see...emery board. Emery BOARD. Board. What would an emery BOARD be used for?"
"Well, what's an emery?"
"An emery....I have no idea."
"I'm sure I've never seen one of these. And I know we don't have one - I mean, I would know if we had an emery BOARD in the house."
"Yeah, me too."
"Hey, maybe it's the board you iron on?"
"Isn't that an ironing board?"
"Oh, right."
"What if it's a board full of makeup? You know, with all the colors and stuff?"
"A palette? A makeup palette!"
"Maybe?"
"Yeah, that sounds good!"
Needless to say, we women won. Three times.
