kelly  |  30 July 2005 - 1:51pm

::jumping up and down, hyperventilating::

HEY EVERYBODY, WE HAVE DSL!!! There is now a second deity considered worthy of worship in this household, and its name is Verizon. Praise be to Verizon!! WE'VE GOT DSL!!!!

::high-fives all around::

We've got DSL,
Yes we do!
We've got DSL,
How 'bout you?!!

::cheerleader kick and jazz hands::

spf: sleep theme

kelly  |  29 July 2005 - 11:16am

I hesitated to do this week's SPF because of the bed. I would honestly rather show you people my underwear drawer (see below!) than my bed. I know, right? WEIRD. I just think a bed is a very intimate thing because intimate things happen in bed. And I don't just mean sex - to me, sleeping is just as intimate. To sleep is to be in such a vulnerable, innocent state and I find that very personal, very intimate. I also find it very sexy. When Rob and I were dating, one of my favorite things was to talk to him on the phone late at night. The later it got, the more he let his guard down and confided in me. And his sleepy voice was so sexy. Nowadays, I love to watch Rob while he's asleep. I love the smell of his pillow. I love how he wraps himself around me in the mornings before we're completely awake. I love how when I wake him up, he smiles before he opens his eyes. Like I said, sleep is a very intimate thing to me. And because the bed embodies those feelings, I'm a little weirded out by people seeing mine. And, to be honest, I am uncomfortable seeing other people's. However, I played anyway 'cause I'm cool like that.

Our 3 cats insist on sleeping at the foot of our bed. I love that they do this, but I cannot tell you how many strange sleeping positions we have to assume in order to accomodate them. We so need a king. And here is Rob's chest of drawers. I have a dresser all to myself, but I didn't take a picture of it because it's sorta covered with clothes at the moment.

Speaking of intimate, here is my underwear drawer. I almost didn't post this because I know mrtl is going to call me a slut for showing my underwear to all of my internet men. But I posted it anyway for two reasons: It is the neatest of all my clothes drawers (which is scary considering it is not at all neat), and my underwear are my pajamas. (Hmmm, perhaps another reason sleep is so intimate to me is because we do it naked.) Or nearly so, anyway - I sleep only in underwear. Now you know. However, just because I don't wear pajamas to bed doesn't mean I don't have any. Au contraire! I LOVE pajamas. Rob says I have WAY too many, which I do. But I love them, and I wear them around the house some evenings and on a lot of Saturdays.

What I am not willing to show you here is my lingerie - that is for Rob's eyes only. But here are a few of my favorite pairs of pajamas. Set #1 is my sloppy Saturday cleaning uniform - I made the star pants and the CNN shirt makes me feel smart. Set #3 is my absolute favorite; I even bought a $150 robe (oops, promised Rob I'd never ever mention the price again) that matches them perfectly.

So there you have it, my most intimate post yet.
