the baby aisle

So on Saturday I found myself standing in the baby aisle at Walmart. I'd been there before to buy baby shower gifts, but this time I was there with my husband, looking to buy a onesie. For us. It was a strange moment. Fortunately, the onesie is for Maylee and not a homo sapien baby. She was spayed last week and keeps biting at her stitches, so the vet said to put her in a onesie to cover the stitches. She is SO adorable in her little pink onesie with baby rattles, bears, and "i love you"!!

She looks like she's in little pajamas. I seriously want to buy onesies for all of our cats so I can put them in their pajamas each night, but Rob won't let me. He says that’s weird.
When people walked by us in the baby aisle, I had fun pretending to be a new mom, feigning near-tears while telling Rob (who was grumpy about being at Walmart at 10pm), "I realize you didn't want this baby, but now she's here and the least you can do is help me find a onesie!" and "Our poor baby only weighs 5 lbs and you can't even help me look for the preemie size?!" So now everyone who was in the baby aisle at Walmart Saturday night (more people than you'd expect, actually) thinks Rob is such a bastard. But then, anyone who is spending Saturday night at Walmart (other than us, of course) shouldn't really be judging people anyway.
