float like a butterfly, sting like a bee

kelly  |  8 July 2008 - 8:48pm

Rob and I have been gingerly moving through life the past couple days after boxing a few rounds on Sunday. He cannot so much as bend down to get a pot from the cabinet without wincing in pain. My deltoids are so sore I cannot reach around to pull my seatbelt or lift my shirt over my head. We are pathetic, people. Especially considering it was Wii boxing.

But, I completely kicked his ass. Worth it.

Domestic violence has never sounded so fun.

WILLIAM  |  8 July 2008 - 10:04pm

Heh heh...you said deltoids...wait a minute thats not dirty.

Oh nevermind.

UCM  |  8 July 2008 - 10:08pm

Yes William, but envisioning Kelly without her shirt on is.

By the way I love the title of this post and I am curious if you had to look it up or if you knew it.

The Wii is no joke! It might be the thing that cures childhood obesity in the U.S. Well... at least in those children whose families are rich enough and persistent enough to buy a Wii.

I had my first Wii experience last weekend!!! Well, second Wii experience, but the first was American Idol, so not very physical. But I "went" bowling and it was pretty fun. And, yes, there was a broken wine glass incident---but thankfully it was not me!!!

I bought Alex "Boom Blox" and I've never had so much fun flinging at things. It was great. They LOVE to play me in baseball, because I'm awful at it.

My friend's nephew destroyed a brand new plasma screen TV by not attaching that strap properly...went and shattered it.

jana, i swear, the first (and second, and third...) time i saw this commercial, i was literally doubled over with laughter. SO FUNNY! it could happen. and probably to someone like me.

Turns out, UCM? Violence is tiring.

William, I knew it. My dad taught me that - he's not a boxing buff, but he liked Muhammad Ali. For some reason that phrase stuck with me. I like to say it when I'm kicking Rob's ass. You know, as advice. Or okay, maybe gloating. :)

Charlotte, it is seriously the best thing to happen to video gaming. I know a mom who loves it because it gets her kids active, but she confesses that she's figured out she can play tennis while sitting on her ass, and so once the kids go to bed she and her husband play the Wii...from their recliners.

doreen, I suck at bowling. Still fun, though. And your wine glass comment cracked me up.

jana, some of Rob's geek friends are into Boom Blox right now. I haven't played it yet, though. And I can totally understand the screen-shattering, especially with the boxing. I get really into the boxing.

That is awesome, Rz. I hadn't seen that one. Hee. It actually reminds me of the Full House episode (of course it does) in which Jesse and Joey are fishing off the yacht and when Joey casts he throws his whole rod into the ocean. I wonder if they have Wii fishing? Or Wii Full House!

kelly's loud, obnoxious gloating
