rocking harder than your grandma's chair

At a conference last week I was introduced to Flocabulary, which is a resource that uses rap and hip-hop to teach vocabulary words. This shit almost makes me want to be an English teacher again. (Almost.) Even better than playing the songs would be having the kids write their own.
I keep listening to this one, totally wishing I could download it to my iPod. Because I am a major nerd. I mean, it's definitely no Eminem in musical or verbal prowess, but still. A song that uses "ameliorate" and "amalgamation" in its lyrics?! Holy fuck.

That type of teaching tool is how you reach students who may otherwise be unreachable! It's like the Dylan-Dylan contest.
Plus it's always fun to use big words.
I would refer people to Nils' comment on the Orbit gum post.
Ha! So true, Charlotte. So true.
That is absolutely wonderful, really. I was even jammin' to the beat, and I was glad to see it wasn't as hokey as I thought it would be. They probably hired some one-hit wonders for the recordings, huh? The price is affordable too, so happy smiles all around.
I also noticed "juxtapose" in the song. Tre cool. Rockin' harder that yo grandma's charrrrrrr!
That is fun! I used to use a lot of the School House Rock videos and songs (for English and history) but this is way more 21st century!
I learned all kinds of new vocab words listening to rap...I just shouldn't use them in public.
My grandma rocks harder than her own chair.
Not quite sure what that means...
