had me at hello
kelly | 15 February 2008 - 4:06pm
It is 8:05 am. I'm walking to my office after a coffee run, bundled up and clutching my cup of joe. A man, younger than me, is coming toward me on the sidewalk. As we pass, I mumble a half-hello and simultaneously he exclaims in as exuberant a come-on voice as I've ever heard, "Hel-lo! Good morning, darlin'!" He is grinning shamelessly and his gaze follows me as we pass. I suspect he might be drunk.
Still - perhaps due to the gusto of his greeting, the liveliness of his licentiousness - I rather appreciate his warm regards.

I always say " you don't have to go the party, but it is a nice feeling to be invited."
kelly lures onlooker's
gaze
Maybe you forgot to wear your bra this morning like you did last time, and are still oblivious ;)
I know some keen morning people, but their gazes don't follow others. And mornings and hangovers together do not usually elicit exuberance, right?
But I always find it striking when strangers are friendly in non-descript places. It says something about how much I live inside a bubble of anonymity.
If we weren't both married, I would totally ask you out.
well, dangit! that jane is totally giving me a run for my money! i like her! ;-) kelly's licentious ogler's gabbiness
(seriously! that new jane is good!)
hey raz, thanks for the kind comment :)
I respect the brilliant wordsmith that you (and kelly) are. And your tagline is way wittier than mine ;)
As for me, not being an english major myself, I keenly learn others'
geniuses
Oh, and might I add that playing acronymic klog is the only time I put my indolent brain to good use? It might just keep my social utility from irretrievably sinking like the Titanic.
oh by the way Kelly, the pic of the day today is so cool. It's like one of those invertible optical illusion effects. Splendid angle and positioning.
still thinking about the photo.
when lines collide, does linearity bend?
You people put my taglines to shame! Bravo all around.
Rob took the photo. And in response to your ponderings, jane, here's another one that I like.
Wow, is that one a giant mirror ball reflecting the ground? Or is it a curvature sculpture lying tangent to the ground?
To me that one provokes more about symmetry and reality. For example, if John Stamos had a perfectly symmetrical face, and the left half was reflected into a mirror but captured onto a two-dimensional plane, would the reflection be just as real as the actual right half of the face?
Just wondering.
You know, this is how they should teach philosophy at universities ;)
I really don't have anything to add.
Just stopped in to say hello!
my daughter told a friend of mine that I wake her up every morning saying, "Googly moogly! Googly Moogly!"
I have NEVER done this.
