fortunate

I dropped some things by Goodwill today and happened to see these shoes. For $2.50. Two dollars and fifty cents! And they look new! And they're my size!

So I started to buy them, but then I had a crisis of conscience, because is it wrong to buy something from Goodwill? I mean, the whole point is that it's a place for people less fortunate to shop. But then I decided that, frankly, poor people would not properly appreciate that these are Steve Maddens - - would not, perhaps, have even heard of them - and so, really, it was fortunate that I came along when I did. So I snagged them from the shelf, rescuing them to the register.

And can I just say? Nothing evokes goodwill like paying for a pair of Steve Maddens with a $5 bill and getting change back.

You are too cute with your spiffy little shoes. I wouldn't know a Steve Madden shoe from a Steve Martin shoe. Except I imagine that Steve Martin's shoes are big and very male looking. ;-)

I don't think it is any problem buying things from Goodwill. They need the income just like any other place, I would think.

Aw, man! Goodwill never has shoes my size...much less cute ones. ::pout::

Wow--what a find! I need to get me a pair of those...

guh! What a find!!!!! My Goodwill is more on the "old pageant dresses" style of tastes. Yikes.

and most the income goes towards helping others anyway, since most of the people who work there are volunteers, at least in my experience anyway. Your money is just helping Good will! It's Good! Will!

Hi. Came here from poopandboogies.
Nice shoes, and great deal, I'm sure.
But I've always wondered about the tip of the toe, where no metatarsal could ever go. What happens with that when you walk -- does it make an echo sound or a sucking noise? Is there a risk of a sharp crease forming that eventually cracks the leather and turns the shoe into a sandal? Can you use it for storage?

SCORE!

Well done.

Friggin good deal, K!

I shop at Goodwill all the time. Got a pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans last year for 6 bucks. And last week I got a girls Oilily dress (which probably sold originally for $175) for 3.99.

LOVE GOODWILL. LONG LIVE GOODWILL.

Welcome, Clinton. I've always wondered about the tip of the toe on this sort of shoe, too - I've never owned a pair before (because, frankly, I think they look rather elfish).

My husband calls them "bitch shoes" because every woman he knows who wears them is a bitch.

Those are a SCORE. I can't ever find cute shoes in my size (boat) and I'm glad you didn't pass them by (buy).

As I pulled up this site to catch up on reading, my wife was looking over my shoulder and said, "wow What a great pair of shoes." So I guess that was a good find.

Oh, how very philanthropical of you, Kelly. For reals.

(and SCORE, woo!)
