kringle leaves our gifts

brought to you by the letters S and M

Have tried on hooch shirt again, at home, and have concluded that shirt neither suggests bodice-ripping nor wrong size but, rather, loudly proclaims wearer to be dominatrix. Lace-up feature, while seemingly sexy in store, actually renders shirt the sort best accessorized with handcuffs and whip. Am perplexed by store/home discrepancy but suppose this is perfect example of transformative nature of dressing room lighting.

Am back to square one. Fuck.

thank you for this wonderful gift.

no, really.

thank you.

nicole  |  18 July 2006 - 1:58am

ummm... you are most, most definitely NOT back to square one. this shirt has unimaginable potential. DO NOT return it. DO NOT leave it at home. DO NOT take it all the way to dubai and then chicken out and not wear it out to a club.

just try it our once. you will thank me for my advice when you return, i promise.

men, are you with me? tell her this shirt is a KEEPER. nilbo, where are you?

William  |  18 July 2006 - 7:06am

FYI- Dubai club lighting is the same as sext outfit store lighting. I think it is a keeper.

Danielle  |  18 July 2006 - 7:21am

I can see how it might give you pause. But you did say that it was suggested that you get a top that shows your middle or has sequins and it is more conservative than either of those. So, you are probably okay wearing it to the club. I'm sure that once you get there, you'll feel appropriately dressed.

ieatcrayonz  |  18 July 2006 - 8:07am

When my husband calls you to ask why I ran away from home, you can tell him it's because of this picture.

Nilbo  |  18 July 2006 - 8:40am

Well.

I think you need to go shopping again, if only to give yourself a range of options once you get there. I think you'll be more comfortable if you can choose between that top and, say, something with more sparkles. ("Yeah. You're very sparkly. Very sparkly. I'm an excellent driver. Uh-oh. Two minutes to Wapner.")

That said, I agree with my colleagues-in-perv that it's a keeper, and may well be the one you'll choose when the night comes and the club beckons. I mean, you know and we know that you'll look hot in anything, so let's stop being disingenuous with ourselves.

It's cute, it's different, and hey, what's the worst that can happen? Oh, please .. you're going to tell me Rob would object to the bite of a stiletto heel and the jingle of fur-lined cuffs ...?

Mistress Kelly. Yeah, that rings.

LadyBug  |  18 July 2006 - 8:45am

Hee.

I say you embrace your inner dominatrix and go with it.

What happens in Dubai, stays in Dubai.

Unless, of course, it is broadcast the world over via your blog.

HFD  |  18 July 2006 - 9:54am

Let me know if you want me to go hooch shirt shopping with you. Allthough I am pretty sure that Rob probably doesn't get tired of doing that. Also, I cannot believe that your very first clubbing experience ever will be in Dubai! Talk about starting off at the top.

ieatcrayonz  |  18 July 2006 - 10:18am

Tell me you're going to wear this without a bra. And one thing perplexes me. How exactly does one get to said club whilst wearing said top in said conservative society?

Effie  |  18 July 2006 - 10:37am

If you feel slightly dominatrix in it, just add a pair of handcuffs at your belt, and you'll be fine... I think it's all in what you pair it with--black leather pants or skirt=dominatrix. Silky, flirty skirt=not dominatrix, but sexy and hoochie! Or silver dog collar necklace=dominatrix, simple gold chain or serpentine necklace=sexy/hoochie mama

Nilbo  |  18 July 2006 - 1:33pm

Is it me, or does Effie seem to have an awful lot of specific knowledge about the S&M world and its fashions ...?

And yeah, what Yonzie said. Can't do the delicates under a shirt like that. Time to show the high beams if you got 'em.

dawn  |  18 July 2006 - 1:59pm

Kelly, can you send me your snail mail address? I have some shirt that are still 'in', that you may like. I havent been able to wear them for 2 years- due to excessive fat.

I tend to be a bit conservative, so I dont think they are too raunchy, but they are sexy. I loved them!! Awesome in the summer, can wear with shorts, pants, skirts. They havent been worn much at all. No handcuffs needed to accessorize.

Tanya  |  18 July 2006 - 7:37pm

WOWSA!!!!

WOWSA!!!!

That is a Hong Kong clubbing shirt for sure. Keep it and come visit HK! :)

Mistress K has a nice ring to it...

kristen  |  18 July 2006 - 8:35pm

Ok, I think you're wrong about that. I'm totally straight and all I could think to do was RIP that bodice right down the middle with my teeth......you are SO club-ready.

rob  |  18 July 2006 - 8:46pm

in my company, S&M stands for Sales and Marketing.

er, at least I thought it did...

Von Krankipantzen  |  19 July 2006 - 7:45pm

No, no, no. It is fine. It all dependds on what you wear it with. I'd say it is nice and shexay. Not hoochie at all. Really.

Mainline Mom  |  27 July 2006 - 2:04pm

Seeeeeexay!!! I hope you kept it.
