my better half

kelly  |  21 June 2006 - 6:00pm

At Friday's party was a guy who worked for Rob's company until he moved away about a year ago to attend grad school. I had never met him. At one point in the evening I was standing alone and he came up and introduced himself. "Hi," he said with a smile. "I'm Harvard Dude."

"It's great to meet you, Harvard Dude," I replied. "I'm Kelly." And then I added, "Rob L's wife."

I expected his face to fall, just a bit. You know, in a Oh, you're totally taken? sort of way. Instead, his face lit up. "Rob?! That guy is AWESOME!" (Yeah, I get this a lot. In fact, I've never been to a work party where someone didn't sing Rob's praises to me. Which I think is pretty fucking cool.)

"Yeah, he is," I agreed.

"Very good marriage choice! Very good marriage choice indeed!"

I grinned. "I think so. Thanks."

"Is he here?!"

"Yeah, he's right around the cor--"

And the dude totally ditched me and took off to find Rob. You know, like he has a huge freaking crush on him or something.

I guess that makes two of us.

Maybe if you'd followed Harvard Dude to Rob you would have discovered Hit-On Mountain Man Dude. There's your problem - the Flirtians all want some some of what you're gettin' ...

Harvard Dude isn't Harvard Smart if he walked away from you.

You're so adorable.

...That's all I have to say about that.

These party posts remind me of Arrested Development when the sister Lindsay goes to visit her dad in prison and keeps trying to get attention from the other inmates, hehe.

How nice to hear.

I'm smiling over here again.

BTW does this type of post make Rob beat his hands on his chest in an "I am man, hear me roar" sort of way? Or is he too humble to let it go to his head? I suspect the latter.

I don't know. You going to these parites may not be very good for your ego.

Should a Man-Crush really be called a Mush?

LadyBug  |  22 June 2006 - 12:40pm

Following Kranki's train of thought...

...and if the Man Crush turns out to be mutual, and the men have a little flingy-fling, would it then be...

Mush Ado About Nuttin'?

::collapsing into a fit of giggles::

::wiping tears from eyes::

::happy, post-giggle sigh::

Hee. I slay me.

I never get to go to parties...

LadyBug, you slay me, too!
Hoo! With the mush?! And the nuttin'?! Bwah!
