This is Simon, of Butts for Butterflies fame. This morning Rob and I awoke to the sound of a cat's desperate clawing and scratching, then silence for a moment, and then the clatter of something being knocked over in the basement.
Somehow, even in my sleepy delirious state, I knew what it was. "Simon just fell down the laundry chute."

ohm'gawd, i'm so much hoping that's not a photo of simon lying comatose at the bottom of the laundry chute! he's just sleeping, raz, he's just sleeping. ::calming self down::
Heeheehee Raz and I thought the same thing. I looked at it and thought "My God, what kind of person stops to take a picture when she should be rushing that poor cat into the VET!"
But then I remembered it was you, and (Full House obsession notwithstanding) you're not a mental case. (Whew)
Ha - I never even considered the fact that Simon looks like a limp ragdoll in this photo. Oops. Although it really is the perfect photo for this post, huh?
Rest assured that Simon survived the fall without injury, although later in the morning as I picked him up from underneath the table, I accidentally smacked his head against it.
Between that and Maylee's torture pajamas, I'm so going to have PETA on my ass.

Mrtl, for the last time, we're not going to kill Grady! And besides, that son of a bitch has completely outsmarted us. We'll never catch him...
Greenie, it's a first for Simon. Bridget once jumped into the chute accidentally, but I was right there and performed a rather impressive rescue before she plummeted to the basement. The chute is in a closet, so the door is always closed. I don't know how Simon managed to open it, but I guess curiosity nearly killed the cat.
