proposing marriage today will send you straight to hell

kelly  |  14 February 2005 - 7:20am

I hear that Saudi Arabia’s Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Evil has banned the celebration of Valentine’s Day, specifically anything red: red teddy bears, red boxes of candy, red roses. And to that I say AMEN. Preach it, Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Evil. Because truly, the tackiness and insincerity of this holiday should qualify as evil. And isn’t unoriginality one of the seven vices anyway? I’m glad to know there are others who think this one-size-fits-all “holiday” is a commercialized crock of shit.
